For all intents and purposes, she was a member of every family that listened and -when the Goldberg's moved to television- watched as their family went through the same common struggles. Said writer Seymour "Sy" Brody, "Gertrude berg was a writer and actress whose work brought out the humanity, love and respect we should all have toward one another. Her contributions to American stage, radio, film and television will always be remembered."
